Located in the heart of Baltimore's Historic Fells Point lies one of the most architecturally unique structures in the area. The Maritime Institute, built in 1989 with the help of volunteers and professional tradesmen, stands as testament to the goal of the Foundation - learning by doing. Behind its four massive cedar-planked doors co-exists classroom space, woodworking equipment, office space and a boat-building shop. With nearly 12,000 square feet of useable space, the Institute provides the resources for a host of diverse programs, such as Fresh Start and Achievement.
