The ocular lens/eyepiece is the part of the microscope through
which you look.
The ocular lens magnifies objects 10x their actual size.
This microscope is monocular because it only has one eyepiece.
Some microscopes are binocular and have two separate eyepieces.
On a binocular microscope the left lens must be focused,
but on a monocular microscope focusing with the ocular lens is NOT necessary.
Looking through the ocular lens is the second step in using a microscope.
