ImagiNATION is an after-school program operated by Living Classrooms of the National Capital Region serving students in grades 3-7. Each student chooses and carries out a job in an economic and civil society simulation or "imaginary community" where the students learn important life and community building skills.
Imagine the game of LIFE mixed with the SIMS--students run their own world! They are each given a job (mayor, police, teacher, athlete, etc.) and a salary. They use monopoly money to buy houses, take the bus, go on vacations, open bank accounts, get loans, etc. Through these real life scenarios the students learn first-hand about financial literacy, resume writing, STEM concepts, conflict management, and government.
